PostedWant something different to the classic sponge wedding cake? The choices for ‘wedding cake’ options are endless. Allow your imagination to run away with you and find something to suit your style. Let’s chuck some inspiration your way!
Thinking of having something different to a traditional wedding cake? Take a look at some of our ideas and if you have any more we would love to know!
- Doughnut Tower
3-tiered tower of doughnuts? Sounds like heaven! You could have jam filled, custard or my favourite a Krispy Kreme Biscoff flavour. These are definitely a crowd pleaser and look striking as well as delicious!
- Brownie Stack
Full of chocolatey gooey goodness! Perhaps with a light dusting of icing sugar and stacked on rustic wooden boards really offers an alternative layout. What’s good about these is they are already cut up into portions (massive time saver) but also makes it easier for chocolate lovers to pinch more than one…
- Sweet/ Dessert Table
A great way to have lots of different options to please everybody. This idea is perfect for envious wedding photos as all the different colours and levels of display makes for an eye catching set up. This is a great way to incorporate lots of these delicious desserts; doughnuts, cookies, macaroons and so much more!

- Cheese Stack (our favourite, obviously!)
Cheese makes a really quirky alternative to wedding cake and let’s be honest everyone loves cheese! Our cheese stacks come beautifully dressed with seasonal fruits, homemade chutneys and artisan crackers. If we have drawn you in take a look at our wedding catering page here.
- Cupcake Tower
If you fancy not going too far from tradition, then cupcakes are a great way to do both! I love the idea that you can have multiple flavours and colours to keep it vibrant and exciting.
There are so many reasons you may want to steer away from what’s been done before, whatever it is I hope these ideas have got your imagination going or at least your stomachs rumbling!
